Lucas Regional June 27-28

Lucas Oil Regional Off Road short course racing was held June 27-28 at Glen Helen Raceway Park. The weekend was full of repeat winners in the 12 race format. Go to the Regional home page (http://lucasoilregional.com/ ) and get full race results.

 

The Pac Racing Springs Pro Open/Fuel Off-Road Wheels Pro event had different winners this weekend. Ronnie Anderson topped the field on Saturday with Ray Griffith and Mike Lawrence sharing the podium. The following day it was Cory Winner taking the win over John Proctor and Jason Caufield was third.

The AMA Plastic Pro Buggy event drew 11 contestants with Dave Mason taking the win on Saturday. Darren Hardesty Jr followed him across the line with Dave Bonner third. On the following day Hardesty was able to cross under the checkers first with Bud ward second and Mike Valentine third.

Dustin Nelson dominated the Weller Racing SR1 class on Saturday and Sunday. With a field of 17 racers it was Bryan McCormick taking second with Cory Weller third on Saturday. The following day Weller was able to take second with McCormick third. Broc Dickerson proved unstoppable in the McKenzie’s Limited Buggy/1600 Buggy action. Winning both events Dickerson first took the win from Kyle Knott on Saturday then Chad Graham on Sunday. Third place finishers were Steve Lang (Sat) and Kyle Knott (Sun).

A total of 20 Production 1000’s took the course with Nick Templeton beating Cody Rahders and Wes Aberle to the line on Saturday. On Sunday Rahders put it together to take the win with Tommy Scranton second and Jason Merrell third.

Titan Electric sponsored Modified Kart action had 20 entries. Hailie Deegan ended up taking wins on both days with Trevor Briska and Conner McMullen third on the firs day. Ryan Carey and Trevor Briska shared the podium on Sunday.

A total of 13 Mini Open/Open V*/Desert Buggies came to Glen Helen with Erik Jacobus winning Saturday. Gary Zweifel was second and Brian Canon third. Nick Schons turned in his best lap on the final lap to win Sunday’s event. Schons was followed by Biker Sherlock and Bill Belansky. Daniel Ferdon won on Sunday and was followed across the line by Scott Johnson and Ryan Shank.

The Beehive Championship saw Bret Jenkins win the first race with Daniel Tyson second and Jake Capriotti third. The following day Daniel put it together for the win with Brian Cannon second and Jake Capriotti again third.

The Mickey Thompson Mini Stock action saw Jason Milligan win on Saturday with Ryan Schank second and third going to Kermit Lennick.

 

J2 Kart action saw Mia Chapman win both of the weekend events. On Saturday Connor Barry was second and Cole Keatts third. On Sunday Keatts took the second spot with Barry third.

The AM Ortega J1 Kart saw a repeat winner as Luke Knupp took home the checkers both events. Allie Espinoza had a pair of second while David Gasper was third on Saturday and Raygen Wilkins finished third on Sunday.

Kayla Smith was able to take repeat wins in the GMZ Unlimited UTV/Walker Evans Racing RZR filed of 20 entriaints. Kipp Mickels earned second the first day with Adam Mello the next. Jake Shirey finished third Saturday with Kipp Mickels third the following event.
