Crandon’s Labor Day weekend

Crandon International Raceway hosted their 49th World Championship Off-Road event August 31-September 1 and followed that up with their 3rd Annual Crandon World Cup/AMSOIL Cup on September 2. The events are now part of the newly formed Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League.

The 3rd Annual Crandon World Cup/AMSOIL Cup was held on Sunday featuring the East verses West Pro 2 event with 17 entries. The group first had a two lap qualifier that Brian Deegan set fast time over CJ Greaves being 0.565 slower than Deegan. Keegan Kincaid was third. When the field came out for the nine lap event the East drivers used their hometown advantage to take all three spots on the podium. CJ Greaves won the event with Keegan Kincaid a close second. Chad Hord was third and Brain Deegan was the first West coast driver in fifth.

A total of 11 Pro 4 qualified with Bryce Menzies taking the checker and CJ Greaves second over Kyle LeDuc. In the World Cup event Bryce Menzies was able to maintain his speed to win with Kyle Leduc second. CJ Greaves was third.

Brock Heger was quickest Pro Lite qualifier with Cory Winner seond and Hailie Deegan third. When they came out to race Brock Heger again was the fastest with Kyle Kleiman second and Cory Winner third.

Sterling Cling was fastest Super Buggy qualifier. Michael Meister was second and Mark Steinhardt third. IN qualifying Trey Gibbs was 14th but would best the field in the eight -lap event. Michael Meister was second and Mark Steinhardt third.

Mod Kart class saw 15 line up for qualifying which saw Mason Prater set the quick lap of 52.696. Mia Chapman was second quickest with Bronsen Chiaramonte third. In the 10-lap event Mason Proater was able to hold off Ricky Guitierrez for the win and Bronsen Chairamonte crossed over third.

The Pro Stock SxS had 49 entries and had to be divided into two qualifying groups. Group A was CJ Greaves setting fast lap time of 50.939. Group B qualifier Brock Heger was quickest with a lap of 50.573. In the main event 31 entries lines up and when the checkers came out it was CJ Greaves taking the win. Myles Cheek crossed over second and Jeremy Houle was third.

Tyler Livingston set quick time in the Pro Mod SxS qualifying with Tim Farr second and Rodney VanEperen third. Tyler Livingston would hold his speed in the seven-lap race to win as well. Tim Farr held second and Jimmy Henderson finished third.

Jason Scherer won the Ultra 4 event with Loren Healy second and Casey Currie third.
