Douglas to race LOORRS

Corona, California (March 6, 2018) – After several years spent racing away from home back in the midwest, southern California native Scott Douglas is bringing his AMSOIL-backed Pro-4 Unlimited truck and team to the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, presented by GEICO, for the 2018 race season.

“It’s like coming home,” Douglas said emphatically. “I’ve known a lot the staff- the tech guys, the guys who drive the safety trucks, the race directors, even Bob (Patison) for years, and I’m anxious to race back on the west coast, in front of family and friends.”

When asked what prompted him to make the move to LOORRS, Douglas was quick to give several reasons. “The car count, the level of competition, and the level of exposure that AMSOIL feels it can get from LOORRS; I know I’ll get a fair shake here.”

“What I’m most excited about are the wider tracks with multiple lines,” Douglas added, “and the higher car count plays to my strength of being able to stay out of incidents and be there at the end; that’s more significant for your points when there are more trucks on the track. I think the drivers in this series get a bad reputation for being too aggressive, but I spotted for and coached Adrian Cenni here in the last half of 2017, and I saw drivers showing a lot of restraint, and the accidents were true accidents; I didn’t see too much deliberate taking out. The drivers are very aggressive, but very clean, and simply because of the higher car count, the number of incidents, and the magnitude of them, will go up.”
