ERX opens for off-road practice

Elk River, Minn. May 13, 2020 – The first signs of racing are returning to ERX Motor Park in Elk River, Minnesota as the facility opens for off-road truck and side-by-side practice this Saturday, May 16. After cancelling several spring events, the 10:00am to 5:00pm open practice session on the one-mile national off-road track represents the return of motorsports action as the facility prepares for the 5th Annual Off-Road National event, July 10-11.

With limited practice venues available anywhere in the United States, several of the top national teams are expected to be on-site Saturday to take advantage and gain valuable seat-time on a national-caliber track. With the first race of the Championship Off-Road Tour in Crandon, Wisconsin currently in limbo due to the ongoing COVID-19 shutdown, the ERX Off-Road National could become the first race of the season.

“We’re just excited to open, it’s time,” said ERX Motor Park co-owner Chris Carlson. “Everyone we’ve talked to…from our own employees to the teams and drivers…they’re ready to get back on the track and make some noise.”

The number of teams and drivers will be limited for Saturday’s practice, and the staff at ERX will be implementing all of the recommended CDC guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy environment for everyone in attendance. Members of the media are welcome and encouraged to attend the open practice session to get a first-hand taste of what’s to come this summer.
