Fans pack ERX

Elk River, Minn. July 21, 2022 – Championship Off-Road racing was back for the 6th annual event this past weekend at ERX Motor Park, and fans and racers alike were treated to some of the best racing the facility has hosted in its 14-year history. The 2022 ERX Off-Road National reigned supreme with a record crowd and a record number of campers who witnessed some of the best short course off-road racing of the season.

Record breaking crowds pack ERX Motor Park

The ERX crew, including hundreds of volunteers, had the facility running to perfection as the 7,500 fans in attendance were greeted with an incredible track, new close-to-the-action seating options, the best hospitality on tour, and some of the most intense and entertaining racing anywhere.

“We all love this place, and I think it shows,” said ERX Business Manager Heidi Goodin. “Our crew works tirelessly to make this the best venue, the best race, and the best fan experience anywhere. It’s so rewarding to see so many people come out… it’s what drives us to keep making the experience better.”

Equally impressed with ERX are the racers. The 1.1-mile track is considered one of the most technical in the sport and features natural elevation changes and a unique split-lane option to further enhance its competitiveness. Drivers who found their way to the top of podium, were obviously even more enthusiastic about the ERX track.

In PRO 4 the father/son duo of Johnny and CJ Greaves split victories Friday and Saturday respectively. In PRO 2 it was Kyle Kleiman getting the win Friday and Cory Winner living up to his namesake on Saturday.

Minnesota’s own Polaris Industries was especially happy with the results in PRO TURBO and PRO STOCK side-by-side, as the brand took home three of four podiums courtesy of Andrew Carlson, Robert Loire, and CJ Greaves. The final well-deserved top-of-the-box spot was earned by Brock Heger from El Centro, California.

“The weather was hot, but that didn’t stop race fans from coming out. I think our focus on hospitality made the difference,” said ERX co-owner Todd Plaisted. “We’re a family-friendly facility and hold ourselves to a standard of excellence in everything we do, and that’s what sets us apart.”
