Lucas Oil Arizona Regional Rounds 5 & 6

 

Lucas Oil Arizona Regional Rounds 5 & 6 were billed as the DragonFire Rumble After Dark May 6-7 at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler AZ. The race provided plenty of action with some of the drivers taking repeat wins. Following is a list of podium finishers. Click on Read the Full Article for complete race results.

 

RZR Stock & Modified   action on Friday night saw Ryder Chapman on top of the box with Dallas Gonzales taking second over Ryder VanBeekum. On Saturday night Ryder VanBeekum took the win with Gonzales again taking second. Ryder Chapman finished third.

 

The fast qualifier on Friday in the JR2 Karts was Bronsen Chiaramonte but once racing got underway Connor Barry was able to take the win. Mason Prater took second with Brock Collins third. Chiaramonte was fourth. The following evening Mason Prater was able to take the checkers with Brock Collins second and Lydia Small was third.

 

When the JR2 Karts qualified Friday Luke Knupp was quickest with Caden Coombs second. Once the Rumble got underway Knupp was able to hold off Landon Coombs for the win with Caden Coombs standing third on the podium. Saturday night’s winner was once again Luke Knupp. Taking second was Braden Chiaramonte with Holden Heitritter finishing third.

 

Corry Weller was able to set the fastest qualifying times on both evening. Friday night she also was able to take the top spot on the podium with Dustin Nelson second and Trisha Wright third. After the race Saturday night it was Dustin Nelson taking the win with Weller second and George Hammel crossed over third.

 

The Pro Buggy Unlimited & Limited Buggy action saw Kyle Aarup take the Friday and Saturday night wins. Friday’s second place was Jerad Irwin and Brady Whitlock was third. With Aarup taking the win the second night also Brady Whitlock bettered his previous night performance by taking second and Jerad Irwin was third.

 

Trey Gibbs was able to take the checkers on Friday night in the Modified Kart race. Conner McMullen was second and Cole Keatts finished third. The following night Conner McMullen was able to take the win with Trey Gibbs second. Again Cole Keatts finished third in a field of ten.

 

In the SR1 Championship Corry Weller was quickest qualifier both days. Weller wasn’t able to keep the speed up during Friday’s race as Bryan McCormick drove under the checkers first. Weller was second and Dustin Nelson was third. The following evening Weller had her fair share of troubles and only put in six laps of the scheduled 10. Brandon Kilgore was able to win the event with Dustin Nelson second and Scott Webster taking third.

 

In the Full Stock, Open V8 & Mini Stocks races it was Trey Gibbs taking the win both nights. In fact both nights the podium had Gibbs on top with Andrew McLaughlin second and Rich Ward third.

 

The Unlimited UTV & Production DragonFire Rumble After Dark saw Adam Gruender take the Friday night win with Alek Pierce second and Chance Haugen third. Winning the Saturday night event was George Hammel with Adam Gruender second and Chelsea Haugen third.
