NORRA Announces Inaugural Raptor Rally: An exclusive Baja Adventure for Raptor Owners
New Raptor-only expedition class joins the NORRA 500 weekend Oct 8-11, with entries limited to 30 vehicles
ENSENADA, Baja California, Mexico – NORRA is introducing a new way to experience Baja with the inaugural NORRA Raptor Rally, a guided, non-competitive expedition class exclusively for Ford F-150 Raptor, Raptor R, and Bronco Raptor owners. Taking place October 8–11 as part of the NORRA 500, the program will bring just 30 vehicles together for remote desert driving, race viewing, and NORRA hospitality.
Participants will drive their own Raptors from Ensenada to San Quintin along an approved adventure route, experiencing Baja’s rugged terrain while taking part in the festivities surrounding the NORRA 500. The emphasis is on exploration, shared experiences, and enjoying these vehicles in the desert, without competing against the clock.
BJ Baldwin Makes Historic Return to Baja
The inaugural Raptor Rally will celebrate “Ballistic” BJ Baldwin’s historic return to Baja, welcoming him as Raptor Rally Grand Marshal and honoring his accomplishments as a desert-racing legend.
Baldwin earned back-to-back Baja victories in 2012 and 2013, driving the full distance himself in both wins and earning the Overall Points Championship in each of those seasons. His return in this special role gives participants an opportunity to share the Baja experience with him, hear stories from his racing career, and celebrate his place in the sport’s history.
Robby Gordon will serve as program host and founder, with Jason Morgan of Morgan Motorsports leading the group on the trail. Together with Baldwin, they will welcome participants into an experience that connects Raptor ownership with Baja’s off-road culture.
Two Distinct Classes, One NORRA Expedition
Raptor Rally joins Safari as a separate class within the NORRA 500 expedition experience. Both classes share the adventure, camaraderie, and event celebrations that make NORRA special, with each offering its own format.
Safari continues as NORRA’s established expedition offering. Raptor Rally adds a vehicle-specific class with private venues and gatherings reserved for its participants. These class-specific experiences and package inclusions account for its different entry cost.
Eligible Raptor owners already registered in Safari may change their registration to Raptor Rally if they wish, subject to availability within the 30-vehicle limit. Existing Safari participants remain a valued part of the same NORRA expedition community.
A Hosted Baja Experience
The Raptor Rally adventure will include a planned stop at a designated race-viewing location, giving participants an opportunity to watch NORRA race vehicles tackle the terrain before continuing toward San Quintin. Routes and timing will be coordinated by NORRA Operations to maintain separation from race traffic.
The total entry fee is $5,995 USD per vehicle, including insurance, two wristbands, two memberships, and the media fee. The planned hosted package includes three nights of lodging, with Thursday and Saturday stays at Estero Beach Hotel in Ensenada and a Friday stay in San Quintin, along with a private Raptor Rally dinner at the Old Mill and a hosted return to Ensenada on Saturday.
Additional passengers may join for $750 per person when sharing a room, including membership and event passes. The additional-passenger rate for those requesting a separate room is $1,500 per person.
Raptor Rally participants will also be part of the NORRA Welcome Festival, Tech and Contingency, drivers meeting, parties, and event celebrations. Each vehicle will receive a safety and readiness review appropriate for the adventure route.
Additional planned highlights include a Thursday welcome gathering with Gordon, Baldwin, and Morgan; dedicated recovery and support vehicles; professional photo and video coverage; and a commemorative finish plaque. The inaugural group will receive Founding 30 recognition as the first participants in the NORRA Raptor Rally.
Tracking and Connectivity
A tracking unit is not required for Raptor Rally. Starlink is recommended to support tracking connectivity during the adventure.
Participants who do not already have Starlink may rent a system through Baja Starlink Rentals. For availability, pricing, and reservations, contact:
