NORRA Details Historic 2027 10-Day Rally Expansion for 60th Anniversary Celebration
NORRA’s Biggest Baja Adventure Ever Will Feature a 10-Day Peninsula Rally, Traditional 6-Day Rally,
and New 4-Day Cabo-to-Ensenada Challenge

The future of rally racing in Baja just got even bigger.

Following overwhelming interest from racers and teams after the success of the 2026 NORRA Baja 6-Day Rally, NORRA officials have officially begun outlining plans for what is shaping up to become the most ambitious and historic off-road rally events ever held in Baja California.

For 2027, NORRA’s 60th Anniversary, NORRA will expand the event into the all-new NORRA’s Baja 10 Day Rally, a massive peninsula-wide adventure racing from Ensenada all the way to San José del Cabo before turning around and racing back north to Ensenada, creating a true endurance challenge unlike anything previously attempted in Baja.

“This isn’t just another race. This is a celebration of 60 years of NORRA history, Baja culture, and endurance racing,” said Eliseo Garcia. “We wanted to create something worthy of the milestone, something racers will remember for the rest of their lives.”

The expanded event comes after teams began reaching out to organizers asking for additional race formats and opportunities to participate in different portions of the rally.

“We’ve had a lot of racers and teams contacting us asking if the six-day format would still exist, and if there would be options for competitors that may not be able to commit to the full ten days,” said Garcia. “After discussing it with Robby Gordon, we agreed that if racers are asking for these options, then we should make them available.”

Three Race Options for 2027

Organizers confirmed the 2027 event will feature three official competition formats:

• NORRA’s Baja 10 Day Rally
  The premier challenge of the event. Competitors will continue beyond Cabo and race the full return journey back north to Ensenada, completing what is expected to become one of the longest and toughest off-road rallies in North America.
• NORRA’s Baja 6 Day Rally
  Competitors will race from Ensenada to Cabo San Lucas/San José del Cabo, similar to the current NORRA format. Teams competing in the six-day event will participate in a special mid-rally celebration and trophy pickup in Cabo before concluding their event.
• NORRA’s Baja 4 Day Rally
  Teams wanting to compete only in the Cabo-to-Ensenada return portion of the rally will have the opportunity to enter the final four-day leg independently. Local teams will be able to register and complete technical inspection in Cabo during the rally’s scheduled rest day.

Motos Return for 2027

NORRA also confirmed that motorcycle competition will officially return in 2027.

For the 2027 NORRA’s Baja 6 Day Rally and NORRA’s Baja 10 Day Rally, moto competitors will share the same overall rally route as the cars and trucks, utilizing roadbook navigation and GPS systems similar to the four-wheel divisions, creating a true unified rally experience in Baja.

“Safety will always remain our top priority,” said Garcia. “We’ll make adjustments where needed to ensure the riders have a safe, competitive, and enjoyable rally while still experiencing the same incredible Baja course and adventure as the rest of the field.”

A New Chapter for Baja Racing

The 2026 NORRA’s Baja 6 Day Rally delivered some of the most competitive racing in modern Baja history, including the debut of the “King of Baja” championship, major prize purses, and a growing international rally field.

Now, as NORRA prepares to celebrate its 60th Anniversary in 2027, the organization believes the expanded 10 Day Rally format could attract one of the largest and most diverse competitor fields ever assembled in Baja.
