RedBud designs new track

TORC: The Off-Road Championship Series heads to mainland Michigan for Rounds 9 & 10: Rumble at RedBud in Buchanan, Mich. August 12-13. This weekend marks the series’ highly-anticipated return to RedBud MX, a facility dubbed “America’s Motocross Track.” Mainly known for its enormous Independence Day Motocross event, for one weekend RedBud will trade two wheels for four to host the trucks, UTVS and buggies of TORC.

TORC held races at RedBud from 2011-2013. Fans may recall roller-coaster elevation changes, sandy sections and treacherous trees from the track those years. This season’s edition will be all-new and full of surprises. The step-up/step-down elevation changes and sections of natural terrain will once again be a staple. The track will be one mile long and winding, featuring five left turns and three right turns, ranging from hairpin to “Talladega” sweepers. Topping things off is a unique Moto flare: a land rush start.

With no prior events on the track and limited resources giving clues to it’s size, features, and nature, drivers are starting their preparation from square one. This has led to a new level of buzz and excitement.
