CRANDON, Wisconsin (October 26, 2017) – Although its record-breaking history only goes back a little over one year, off-road racing’s newest and richest short-course event has already been confirmed for the 2018 motorsports season.
Crandon International Raceway today announced its commitment to the 3rd annual Crandon World Cup, set to take place on Sunday, September 2nd, 2018 as part of the 49th annual Crandon World Championship Off Road Race® weekend. Open PRO practice at Crandon’s iconic 1.75-mile dirt track is scheduled to take place on Thursday, August 30th, 2018.
Now firmly established as the “Super Bowl of Short Course,” the Crandon World Cup offers PRO category racers with a non-denominational day of competition in front of the sport’s largest crowd waging war for the biggest purse in off-road racing.
In keeping with World Cup tradition, Crandon officials also announced a minimum total cash and prize purse of $200,000 for 2018. This year the record-breaking World Cup purse included $150,700 in cash divided into eight Crandon World Championship races, including a massive $68,500 alone for the 8th annual AMSOIL Cup Challenge weekend finale.
