ERX 2020 season opener

ERX Motor Park hosted the Championship Off Road 2020 short course racing season opener on July 10-11 in Elk River, MN. The two day event drew 16 separate classes with 216 entries. Every precaution was taken due to Covid-19 with special seating broken up into zones with each zone accepting 250 spectators. Following is a lsit of podium finishers.

When the racing started Friday Colin Schultz put his Ski-Doo out front of the 1600 Light Buggy class for the win. Tyson Marquardt finished second and Greg Stingle grabbed the final podium spot. Saturday Jake Nelson stood atop the podium with Tyler Marquuardt again taking second. Billy Burth was third.

Billy Burth was able to take the 1600 Single Buggy win Friday. John Fitzgerald was second and Dylan Parsons was third. Dylan Parsons was able to better his position Saturday by taking the checkers from Billy Buth. Colton Berns finished third.

There were nine Pro Buggy contestants Friday that saw Michael Hester take the win JD Koran was second and Chris Can Den Elzen was third. The next day Mark Steinhardt would take the win over Ryan Schwalbe and Mike Kirkham finished third.

The Super Stock Truck event drew 13 entries with Nick Bying taking the overall spot on Friday. Joe Maciosek was second and third Kyle Cooper. The following race Joe Maciosek bested Friday’s winner Nick Bying who crossed over second. Third was Kyle Cooper.

Aaron Konitzer took both win in the Classix race with Dale Chestnut second and Ronald Kosciesza third both days.

There were repeat finishers in the Formula 4×4 races as Danny Beauchamp took wins both days with Randy Schaitel second and Codie Summers third.

Eric Senkowski drove his Ford to win the Stock Truck class on Friday. Don Demeny crossed over second and Travis Peterson was third. When the flag came out for Saturday’s race it was Diesel Shanak first with Eric Senkowski second and Collin Wichman third.

The MORR UTV class drew a whooping 32 entries. Proudly standing on top of the podium was Tim Chistensen with Colin Kernz second an Trevor Bushmaker third. At the end of Saturday’s race Dylan Maquardt had taken the checkers with Mike LeTourneau second and Jake Jorgenson third.

Sam Marquardt was able to capture both Mod Kart wins with Michael Funk seound and Eston sleeper third on Friday. Easton Sleaper was second and Antonio Inglese third on Saturday.

Andy Johnson proved unstoppable in the Short Course Kart class. Johnson took home both day’s of racing wins wit Benjamin Heiting second and Ava Lawrence third in the firs race. Aiden Wandahsega second and Ava Lawrence was again third on Saturday.

Kyle LeDuc was dominate in the Pro 4 class taking wins both days. Johny Greaves crossed over second wit Andrew Carlson third on Firday. Andrew Carlsen was able to better his position Saturday crossing over second and CJ Greaves was third.

With a total of 11 Pro 2 trucks on field Keegan Kincaid was able to show the field the quickest way to the checkers on day one. Mickey Thomas was second and Kyle Kleiman third. When the checkers came out Saturday it was Kyle Kleiman topping the podium with Keegan Kincaid second and Ricky Gutierrez third.

A total of 18 entered in the Pro Mod SxS class but after two days of racing the top three remained the same. CJ Greaves took the top podium spot with Kyle Chaney second and Rodney VanEperen third.

Kyle Greaves was able to best the Pro Lite class both days. Carson Parrish was second on day one with Cole Mamer third. Carson Parrish was second on day two with Zach Szymik taking third.

A total of 25 Pro Stock SxS took to course on Friday and when the checkers flew it was CJ Greaves driving under them first. Robert Loire crossed over second an third was Jason Luburgh. The following day Robert Loire would see the flag first with Jeremy Houle second and CJ Greaves third.

Kody Krantz would take the flag on the field of 17 SxS 170 entries Friday. Draxton Szymik was second and Ellah Holtger third. Carson Greco drove his Polaris for the win Saturday and Ellah Holtger was second and Collin Paitl third.
